Pros:
No unnecessary spending
Communism supports no unnecessary spending. One example is The Soviet Union (USSR) from 1917-1981. Until about 1981 the USSR was almost completely independent. They were able to function completely solo which was why their country grew so fast. The country fell when they tried collaborate with other countries. That was when they started to spend recklessly spend because they aided countries like Vietnam, Cuba, and Mongolia. For about sixty-five years they able to stay out of debt then, when they branched out they fell. Due to the unnecessary spending they ruined their country. Without all of the blown money they most likely wouldn’t have fallen into debt and they might still be going strong. If their leader followed communism exactly then he would have known not to do that, and the world today could be very different.
Universal health care
In communism, everyone would be provided health care through the government. People would not have to apply and be denied the care everyone deserves as a human being. Health care should be a human right, not an individual right only certain people are entitled to. The government would provide health services for all citizens and not chosen ones. This is necessary because why does one person deserve hospital care compared to another? People would not be afraid of not being cared for. People who live without health care know that if anything happens to them, not only would they not be able to provide for their family, but they may not even be able to get the necessary care needed to get better.
High rate of growth
One way that communism can create growth is by farming. Under Joseph Stalin the Soviet Union’s (USSR) economy grew over twenty percent in only seven years. One way that they were able to grow was through farming. The USSR learned to grow multiple things like sugar, tea, and tobacco from the Yugoslavians. They exported more than they imported witch caused instant growth. The USSR were also responsible for over eighty-five of the food that their country consumed which is a lot compared to the US’s sixty percent.
unemployment= 0%
When Japan was under communist rule, it had basically a 0% unemployment rate. This is because the government gave everyone a job so that everyone could be a productive member of society. When Japan’s communist government fell, its unemployment rose to a startling 5.6% in just one year. This is because without the government helping to support people, there will be people who are unable to get a job. When people are not able to get a job, then they will have no income and when they have no income, they will not be able to help stimulate the economy. This is part of what contributed to the recession the United States suffered in 2008 because so many people were without a job, the economy fell as many people were not able to buy American goods. In communism, everyone would have a job of some sort and everyone would be able to contribute to the community, and to the economy.
no central leader
The original ideal of communism established by Karl Marx says that everyone is equal within the country. Even members of the “government” are not considered higher. The country is run basically by an impartial communist party. There was to be no dictator that ran the country, only a group of equal people who are no more important than any other citizen in the country. This is important because it shows that communism really was not established to be a dictatorship headed up by one person. Rather, it was meant to be a mutual agreement among the people on how the community was supposed to work.
you do not have to worry about money
Our society today revolves around money. How much do you get paid, what car do you drive, how much did your house cost? In communism, everyone gets paid the same amount. You will never have to worry about whether or not you will be able to provide for yourself or your family. Most communist governments in history have given everyone the same wage no matter what occupation they have. Ideal communism however, would consist of no money at all. If there was no money in society, it would create a sense of equality throughout each community. There is something called the “honor system” which means that each person will take what they need to provide for their family and leave enough for others to provide for theirs. This basically eliminates poverty in any given country. In a communist society no
one is poor or rich. Everyone works together to better their society and to
help their country to grow. No one owns anything besides the government.
